Frequently Asked Questions

The Hawk seamlessly integrates with a variety of sensors via its module I/O Cards, defining the 9 inputs/outputs and providing unlimited options for sensor integrations. Deployment-ready cards such as the Agtech 1 Card, Agtech 2 Card, Digital Card, Bluetooth+ Card, RS-1 Card, and Serial Card offer a comprehensive suite of options to meet a wide range of equipment needs, with the additional possibility of custom card development.

The Hawk supports Cellular LTE-M and NB-IoT capability, providing extended coverage, low power consumption and improved performance through walls and underground. The Hawk also supports optional external cellular antenna for maximum range, enabling reliable equipment monitoring even in remote or low-signal areas.

When the Hawk is used to monitor equipment powered by an external source such as mains or solar, that equipment can also power the Hawk. This equipment can be wired directly into the Hawks external power input, which will charge the Hawks internal LiPo battery (included with the LiPo Housing option). This battery will then act as a backup if the external power drops below the minimum required voltage (e.g., a solar panel at night). The input voltage should be 6-28V, with 12V or higher recommended.

The Hawk does have an onboard GPS that can return scheduled location updates. This feature helps with locating the installation site, reducing the overhead of logging each Hawk's location. However, the Hawk is not a tracking device and cannot detect trip start and endpoints.

The Hawk can hold up to 1,000 Bluetooth tags in its onboard memory, which provides immense value for equipment tracking. These small, low-cost tags can be placed on equipment, and the Hawk can report when these tags are lost or found. By installing the Hawk on a mine site, job site, or warehouse, it can provide tracking insights for thousands of small pieces of equipment.

The Hawk enables users to configure task parameters for equipment management, including setting the sampling frequency of sensors and defining when tasks occur. Users can also configure actions to specify which sensor readings to take or which output to set, enhancing flexibility in monitoring and managing equipment.
